Parrott Creek Ranch is located in Musselshell County, MT and is approximately 17 miles southeast of Roundup, MT. Roundup is 50 miles north of Billings, the state's largest city. Billings has an international airport and is served by many airline companies. Roundup is a small cow town of 2500 people and is the county seat of Musselshell County. Roundup has all the amenities to meet your basic needs, such as a grocery store, restaurants, and service stations, as well as a K-12 school system.

The Ranch lays in the Bull Mountains south of the Musselshell River. These mountains are a low range (3400-4700') of rolling Ponderosa Pine covered hills, giving the ranch the look and feel of a mountainous property; creating small grass valleys, timbered ridges, deep rugged draws and uniqque sandstone rock outcroppings. Although both the East Fork and the West Fork of Parrott Creek drainages run through the property with occasional water coming to the surface, most of the water is established throughout the ranch with springs and wells running year round. The ranch receives about 17 inches of rainfall annually.

Ponderosa Pine is the primary tree on the ranch with a scattering of Juniper. The most common grass species include: Needle and Thread, Western Wheatgrass, Blue Bunch Wheatgrass and Idaho Fescue. Snowberry brush is commonly found throughout the ranch. Two hundred plus (200+) acres of dry land hay ground complete the vegetative covering.

Big Game animals include Rocky Mountain Elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer and antelope. In addition bobcats, mountain lions, coyotes, eagles, hawks and a large flock of Merriam's turkey inhabit the ranch. Parrott Creek Ranch is in MDFWP hunting unit 590 which allows for open hunting of elk with archery equipment and takes a special draw license to harvest an elk with a rifle. The Parrott Creek Ranch big game has been professionally managed by Private Lands Consultants for 15 years, which has created a sustainable trophy herd of elk and deer. Bulls 350 gross Boone and Crockett points and bigger are either observed, shot at or killed by the Ranch hunters annually. Mule and white-tailed deer can be harvested with a rifle during the general season. Antelope require a special permit by draw only and can be harvested with either rifle or archery equipment.
